There’s nothing quite like a springtime ramble through Castlewellan Forest Park, especially when you’ve got a curious border collie like Finn leading the way, nose to the ground and tail in the air. We set out on a bright morning, keen to stretch our legs and take in some of the fresh Mourne Mountain air – and Castlewellan didn’t disappoint.

If you’re looking for a refreshing walk that offers coastal views, open stretches for off-lead zoomies, and a bit of woodland magic, look no further than the trail from Keel Point around Murlough Bay. We recently took Finn, our ever-energetic Border Collie, on this route—and he absolutely loved it.

As the days grow longer and the chill of winter fades, Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion bursts into life with the colours and energy of spring. This stunning part of Northern Ireland is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes, making it the perfect destination for outdoor adventures. Recently voted Northern Ireland's best place to live, Dundrum caught the attention of our resident border collie, Finn. Eager for a new adventure, he made his way to Dundrum Castle and found the perfect setting to explore.

Our resident border collie, Finn, made a memorable visit to Dundrum Castle recently and discovered the ideal spot to embark on his latest adventure. 

Located amidst the scenic landscapes of County Down, this historic landmark boasts breathtaking views, expansive open areas, and a variety of trails perfect for curious noses and wagging tails.

Dundrum has officially been named the best place to live in Northern Ireland by the Sunday Times Best Places to Live guide – and it’s easy to see why. 

Described as “genteel, seriously gourmet, and generous in spirit,” this picturesque coastal village in County Down offers a magical setting where nearly every home boasts stunning views of the Mourne Mountains, Dundrum Bay, or both.

With the good weather approaching its time to get outdoors! The three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion feature several coastal paths and coastal walks that give you the opportunity to see and explore the picturesque scenery that hugs the coastline, some that are more accessible than others so make sure to wear sensible footwear!

There are so many things to see and do in Mourne Gullion Strangford, that it was hard narrowing it down to just ten. We have complied a list of reasons to visit this unique and picturesque area and if it doesn't persuade you to visit Mourne, Gullion, Strangford this year, I don't know what will!
