Castlewellan remains incredibly popular because it has something for everyone. Newer riders and mixed-ability groups can settle into the shared Green Trail around Castlewellan Lake. This follows a gentle loop with plenty of places to pause, spot birdlife in the reeds and take in the castle skyline.
In addition to the trails, the pump track beside the trailhead is a favourite for all ages. It’s the perfect place to practise balance and cornering in a safe, contained space. Younger riders can spin laps while others fine-tune setup or grab a coffee. Families in particular appreciate how Castlewellan lets everyone ride at the right level, share the same setting and still have a brilliant day together.
