About

Donard Forest is located at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, Newcastle and is open to the public to visit on foot.

Occassionally there may be restricted access to parts of the forest during work or other forest operations.

The area to the north east of the forest has been designated as a Heritage Stand and was planted in 1927 made up of Scots and Corsican pine trees,with herbaceous plats and shrubs hidden below the trees.

Access to this forest is by foot from Donard Car Park, Newcastle.
