St Patrick’s Day at Down Arts Centre – 10am to 4pm – Tuesday 17th March 2026

Join us at Down Arts Centre, nestled in the heart of Downpatrick, this Saint Patrick's Day for a delightful celebration of creativity and culture. Enjoy a range of activities, including arts and crafts, captivating street performersand Irish traditional music.

  • Arts & Crafts workshop for kids in the Art Room accompanied by Facepainting
  • St Brigid’s Cross Making workshop / Irish trad music / Irish themed printmaking workshop in the Gallery – last year members of the public were able to take home their own print of Down Cathedral
  • 3 x Street Performance Acts outside the Arts Centre – Mr Whizzy / Dr Nick / Caolan McBride Magician

All of the above is free for the public.

Special 'St Patrick's Week' Screening of the film "Into The West"

As part of the festivities, and in collaboration with Film Hub NI, the centre will also host a special screening of the film Into The West on Thursday 19 March 2025, 10.30am - 12.30pm Tickets £5 and includes tea/coffee/biscuits

Saturday 28 March Celtic Soul return to Down Arts Centre (they are a Van Morrison tribute band)

Call into the Gallery and check out "our Woodlands" by artist Tommy Barr - an exhibition depicting significiant trees around the County Down landscape with specific focus on paintins of local loved landmark - Ballynoe Stone Circle.  This event runs from 5 March to 27 March 2026.
