Queen James Cover

About

Join historian and broadcaster Gareth Russell for a fascinating exploration of the life and reign of James VI and I, one of the most influential and controversial monarchs in British and Irish history.

Educated at Down High School, Gareth studied History at Oxford University before completing postgraduate studies at Queen's University Belfast.

His latest book, Queen James, became an instant bestseller and was adapted into a BBC documentary. He is also the author of an acclaimed biography of the Queen Mother, named a Times Book of the Year, and The Palace, his history of Hampton Court Palace, which was awarded BBC History Book of the Year.

This engaging and thought-provoking talk offers fresh insights into the man behind the crown, exploring the intersections of power, passion and politics at the heart of the early modern monarchy.
