Group of people walking in the Mournes

About

Whether it's your first time out in the mountains or you just want to learn more skills, this one-day navigation course is for you.

We can deliver this course in the Mourne Mountains or any other location of your choice, in Northern Ireland.

This introductory course will take place on lower-level routes and is suitable for people with fitness level 1. Suitable for people who are new to walking and prefer a relaxed approach. This course will be delivered 'on track/paths'. Maximum distance of 8km and maximum ascent of 200m.

On request we can offer more advanced Hill Walking Navigational courses, for fitness level 2. This would be suitable for people who are fit enough to enjoy days out on the hills and high tops, but would prefer to train on terrain that is not too physically demanding. This course will be off track on the open hillside at times. Maximum distance 12km and maximum ascent 600m.

We are running a level 2 course on Saturday 28 February 2026 (9.00 am to 5.00 pm)
