Newry City comes alive this Halloween with a packed programme of free, family-friendly events across the city, alongside the return of the popular Newry Halloween Twilight Market at Newry Variety Market on Saturday 31 October 2026 from 5pm to 10pm so bring the whole family along for a frightfully fun evening.
Hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, the popular event will transform the historic market into a Halloween wonderland packed with spooky entertainment, family-friendly activities, live music, artisan shopping, delicious food and drink, and plenty of surprises around every corner.
There will be plenty to keep little witches, wizards and monsters entertained throughout the evening with a range of spooky arts and crafts, Halloween games, face painting and potion-making activities.
Adding to the Halloween atmosphere, visitors can enjoy live entertainment from The Just Adam Band, and music act Just the 2 of Us providing the soundtrack to an evening of spooky fun. A family Halloween disco hosted by a DJ Dee will also keep the party going, with prizes awarded for the best fancy-dress costumes on the night. Spot prizes will be handed out throughout the event, giving visitors even more opportunities to join in the fun.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with a wide selection of delicious street food and sweet treats available from market traders. A licensed bar will also be open throughout the evening, offering a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments, making the event the perfect Halloween night out for adults as well as families.
Visitors can browse a fantastic selection of artisan stalls showcasing local crafts, gifts and produce while soaking up the unique Halloween atmosphere. Walkabout characters, spooky surprises and interactive entertainment will ensure there is something around every corner to delight visitors of all ages.
