Mick O'Brien is one of the most respected uilleann pipers of his generation. A superb performer, he has broadcast extensively on television and radio, both as a soloist and in collaboration with a wide range of artists, including Charlotte Church, The Dubliners, The Boys of the Lough and Altan. In 2023, he was named Musician of the Year at the Gradam Ceoil TG4 Awards, the foremost recognition given to traditional Irish musicians. Mick is also a superb performer on the whistle and flute.
