100 years ago Jordan's Castle was bequeathed to the State by Francis Joseph Bigger. The castle was his weekend retreat. For European Heritage Open Days two tours have been organised showcasing the rich heritage of Ardglass, a quiet coastal village with no less than six castles!
Addtionally, talks have been organised in the Castle which cover the life and legacy of FJ Bigger. The Castle will remain open during the day for visits and will give a rare opportunity to see this unique building.
Tours - Guided tours depart from the Castle at 13:00 and 14:30. - Please note all tours are now fully booked. (10/09/26)
The Castle will remain open during tour times if volunteer staffing is available. Otherwise, it will be open from 11:00 to 13:00 and 15:30 to 18:00
Castle entry is not ticketed.
