GUY FAWKES NIGHT

The Schomberg Society is delighted to announce that we will once again this year be hosting our 𝗚𝗨𝗬 𝗙𝗔𝗪𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 Celebrations in Kilkeel on Saturday 7th November! 🎉

The event will include a 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 accompanied by Marching Bands and Re-Enactors, which will leave from Reivers House at 7.30pm and make its way to the Kilmorey Arms Hotel and returning to the Lower Square, Kilkeel. ☄️

When the parade arrives at the Lower Square, our 𝗚𝘂𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝘄𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 will continue in the Lower Square, Kilkeel and will include the lighting of a Beacon, Stage Effect Fireworks, Fire Breathers, Fire Spinners, Balloon Modellers, Face Painting, Children’s Entertainers, Music & Dance Performers, Drama Performers, and Much More! 🎇

All children participating in the parade will get a free Chocolate Apple on a Stick! 🤩

The Guy Fawkes tradition in Kilkeel stretches back well over 100 years, when annually Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night was a huge occasion in our town. Of course, the target of the Gunpowder Plot was King James I, who after surviving Guy Fawkes’ Plot went onto oversee the Plantation of Ulster and the arrival of thousands of Scots in Ulster.

We’re really looking forward to building upon last year’s Guy Fawkes Night event and celebrating in style once again this year! 🔥

This is a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 family event and everyone is more than welcome to join with us in our celebrations! 💥

(Please note - There will be also be stalls in attendance selling hot drinks, food and refreshments and the traders will be charging for these during the event).

If your child would like to take part in the Children’s Torchlight parade, please get in contact with us...
