About

Join this workshop to learn some Irish-language songs and charms appropriate to the season.

In this workshop, we will explore some of the Irish-language material associated with St Brigid's Day, particularly the song Gabhaim Molta Bríde. Come along and learn to sing this song of praise for our local saint, and more. Your facilitator for this event is Ciara Hall. Ciara is a sean‑nós singer from Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland, known for performing and reviving traditional Irish‑language songs of the Oriel (north Louth/south Ulster) tradition. She holds an MA in Irish, competes in sean‑nós competitions, and leads workshops sharing local songs and cultural heritage.

The workshop will be in English and translations of Irish materials will be provided. Beidh míle fáilte roimh chomhrá agus roimh cheol i nGaeilge! Refreshments will be available.

This event is part of the Ring of Gullion's Imbolc Festival and is supported by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council through the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership. Click here to find out all the details about the 'Imbolc Festival | Ring of Gullion'
