About

Burren, County Down is a small rural townland in County Down, close to the town of Warrenpoint and not too far from Newry City.

Burren Heritage Centre, previously a national school, was built in 1839 and is situated just across the road from the play park. The play park in Burren is a modern community play area designed for families. The play park features a range of equipment suitable for different ages including climbing frames, slides, swings, and interactive play units alongwith open space for informal games. It is also close to local schools, the local shop (Bumpers) and nearby residential areas.

The wider Burren area sits close to Warrenpoint and the foothills of the Mourne Mountains offering easy access to both the coast and the countryside.

Nearby to Burren, visitors can also enjoy the tranquil setting of Donaghaguy Waterworks, a peaceful reservoir and walking area surrounded by woodland and countryside.
