About

Set within the 800-acre Castle Ward Estate, this National Trust campsite offers a unique stay surrounded by historic landmarks, scenic trails and coastal wildlife. Located on the shores of Strangford Lough, it is a short walk from Strangford village and close to iconic filming locations, including Game of Thrones, as well as one of Ireland’s premier birdwatching areas.

Guests have access to National Trust properties and a network of peaceful walking and cycling trails suitable for all abilities. The lough provides ideal conditions for kayaking and wildlife spotting, while nearby villages offer pubs, restaurants, galleries and ferry access to Portaferry.

Check-in is from 2pm and departure is by 12 noon. To maintain the site’s peaceful atmosphere, bookings are limited to a maximum of four adults, whether booked together or separately. Groups of more than four adults and four children are classed as a group booking.
