The Dead

About

As part of Newry Arts Festival, Newpoint Players present a moving adaptation of James Joyce's celebrated story The Dead.

Set during a Dublin Christmas gathering, the play follows Gabriel Conroy as an evening of music, conversation and conviviality gradually unfolds into a profound and life-altering moment of reflection. As memories resurface and truths emerge, Gabriel is confronted with questions of love, loss and mortality.

This atmospheric and faithful adaptation captures the quiet power of Joyce's masterpiece, offering audiences an intimate exploration of identity, longing and the weight of the past.
