Annesley Walled Garden 2026 Guided Tours

About

Come and rediscover the Annesley Walled Garden at Castlewellan Forest Park. Created and developed by generations of Annesleys, this internationally renowned Walled Garden has been restored as part of the Castlewellan Historic Demesne project co-funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.

Join our knowledgeable gardeners on a tour of the internationally renowned Annesley Walled Garden. The 12-acre Walled Garden, dating back to the 1850s, is one of the finest examples of a grand Victorian formal garden with collections of rare and exotic trees, shrubs and plants.

Delve into the history and heritage of the Walled Garden and how it developed over the decades. Discover how the garden was restored to its former Victorian glory and the tales of some of the special trees we have.

The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and due to steps and path gradients, this tour is not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.

Early booking is recommended to secure a spot as spaces are limited. Click here to book now.

Entry is free into the Walled Garden; however, car parking charges apply when visiting Castlewellan Forest Park.
