Generously gifted by Jane Fisher, the collection tells the remarkable story of this prominent shipping and importing business based at Newry’s Albert Basin and offers valuable insight into the area’s rich maritime, industrial and social history.

This week's article looks at Newry and Mourne's  rich sporting tradition, which is woven into the area’s social and cultural life.

This week, we explore the Newry Canal Festival, the South Armagh Festival and other festivals. Since the mid-1970s, these events have played a key role in community life across Newry and Mourne, uniting families through parades, music, sport and fancy dress while raising much needed funds for local charities.
